Diana Asamoah and Cecilia Marfo are making Christianity unattractive – A Plus

The Christian Council of Ghana is being challenged by Kwame Asare Obeng, better known as A Plus, to prohibit gospel singers Diana Asamoah and Cecilia Marfo from preaching because their inadequate understanding of God’s word is simply leading to confusion among consumers.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV on Saturday and monitored by GX GH, A Plus—who just declared his remarks that the two artists were merely using the name of God and disgracing the Christian fraternity.

“I believe that there’s only one God with different intermediaries. Christians go through God through Jesus Christ, Muslims through Mohammed, and Buddhists through Buddha,’’ he said.

“As a traditionalist, I believe that before the white man came, our forefathers prayed to God through our gods, but we are condemning on our own.’’

“Look at what Cecilia Marfo and Diana Asamoah are doing. They shouldn’t preach again because they are confusing people. They have made Christianity unattractive and are just playing with the name of Jesus Christ. They are using it for their selfish interests,” he noted.

Cecilia Marfo made headlines on social media last week after a video of her sobbing revealed that the number of people in her church had dropped from 400 to 40 as a result of attacks on her by politicians Kennedy Agyapong and Afia Schwarzenneger years prior.

However, while many anticipated support from others, particularly from her fellow believers, Evangelist Diana Asamoah instead denounced her behavior, implying that she was merely trying to win over the public’s sympathies.

A Plus claims that the public would benefit much more from Cecilia Marfo’s church being shut down, much like many other systemic elements who have been compelled to carry out God’s work due to destitution and hunger.

“Hunger and poverty are forcing people into ministry, and that is why the government must close Cecilia Marfo’s church. There are lots of such elements in the system that won’t be allowed to operate in a civilized society,” he added.
