Make sure nobody’s name misses out on the electoral register – Opambour warns Jean Mensa ahead of the 2024 elections.
Prior to the general elections of 2024, Prophet Ebenzer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, the founder and leader of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center, has strongly warned Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to him, the chairwoman of the EC should take steps to ensure that all Ghanaians who have registered to vote will be verified on election day in 2024.
The minister of God emphasized that by doing this, it will help prevent conflicts and acts of violence, mostly because those who would be impacted would feel betrayed and could wish to retaliate in an effort to cast their votes.
”Take good care of the electoral register so that nobody’s name misses out on the list,’’ the pastor said while speaking on Prophet 1 TV, which was monitored by GX GH.
“Make sure that every Ghanaian who has a registered name will be in the voter’s register for the person to cast his or her ballot. We don’t want a situation where someone has registered and, on the day of the election, the person’s name cannot be found. Where did it go?’’ he asked.
“Is it an air or spirit to vanish from the book? We don’t want to hear those stories in the 2024 elections because no one’s name is going to vanish from the book,’’ he added.
Opambour also issued a warning, saying that the polls would be canceled until the irregularities were fixed if the EC did not make sure that the name of each registered voter was listed in the register.
“The EC should make sure that members of the NPP, NDC, and all other political parties’ names are captured in the register for them to vote peacefully. If it happens that some names are missing in some constituencies, we will cancel the elections and hold them again,’’ he threatened.
