Kwame Mickey, the music producer who recently accused Team Eternity of copyright infringement over their hit song "Defe Defe," alleging that it sampled a track by one of his artists, Helleluyah Voices, provided insights during an exclusive interview with Kwasi Aboagye on Entertainment Review. Mickey initially believed that Team Eternity was an American group due to their choreography and style, which he thought blended American elements with Ghanaian influences.
Intent on taking legal action, Mickey was prepared to remove the song from all online stores and sue the group and their record label, seeking damages of around $1 million for the alleged infringement. However, upon further investigation, he discovered that Team Eternity is, in fact, a Ghanaian music group, not American artists with a Ghanaian influence.
Following this revelation, Mickey decided to pursue a different course of action. He is now engaged in discussions with Team Eternity, aiming to resolve the matter amicably and foster a cooperative relationship moving forward.
