Ghanaian Pastor Who Shot And K!lled His Wife In America In 2020 Sentenced To Life Imprisonment
Sylvester Ofori, the former leader of Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries in Orlando, Florida, was charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of his estranged wife, Barbara Tommey, on September 8, 2020.
The tragic incident occurred near the front door of her workplace at the Navy Federal Credit Union. Witnesses reported that Ofori, who had more than 60,000 followers on his now-disabled social media, followed Tommey and shot her once as she approached the credit union.
He then allegedly shot her multiple times in the head. Tommey’s sister had recorded a fight between the estranged couple the day before, during which Ofori threatened to take her life. Despite the evidence, Ofori’s defense attorney has contested the premeditation charge.
The case highlights the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the importance of seeking help if you or someone you know is in an abusive situation.
