Great Ampong Suspended by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church
Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, widely known as Great Ampong in the Ghanaian gospel music scene, has been officially suspended by the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church. This decision comes after the musician allegedly violated several of the church’s rules and doctrines.
Sources monitored by GX GH reveal that the SDA Church initiated an investigation into Ampong's activities after receiving complaints that he had repeatedly gone against the church's beliefs. A panel was formed to examine the situation, and it concluded that the musician had indeed breached the principles held by the SDA Church.
The report indicates that these violations have been ongoing for some time, but the church had previously chosen not to take any formal action. Among the noted infractions were attending funerals and performing at events on Saturdays, a day designated by the Adventist faith as the Sabbath, which should be kept holy and free from secular activities.
For years, the church turned a blind eye to these breaches, possibly due to Ampong's prominent status as a musician. However, the situation took a more serious turn after Ampong was recently ordained as a pastor. His ordination, which took place in the United States under the auspices of His Excellency Bishop Adonteng Boateng at the Divine World International Ministries, was seen as a direct contradiction to the SDA Church's teachings and rules.
In light of these actions, the SDA Church decided to suspend Great Ampong from his duties and responsibilities within the church. This suspension serves as a significant repercussion for his continued disregard of the church’s values, particularly in light of his new role as a Reverend Minister.
