Empress Gifty’s Team Clarifies Her Absence from McBrown’s Show

Empress Gifty's management has provided an explanation for the gospel singer’s absence from Nana Ama McBrown's popular show, "Onua Showtime." Contrary to rumors, her non-appearance had nothing to do with any disagreement or ill will toward the host.

During an interview on Hitz FM, her publicist, Edem Tsotorme, shared that Empress Gifty's absence was due to an unforeseen family emergency. After performing at a thanksgiving ceremony for the mother-in-law of business mogul, Osei Kwame Despite, Gifty received alarming news that her daughter had fallen seriously ill in Akosombo, Eastern Region. Without delay, she rushed to her daughter’s side.

"Empress did not miss the show out of any ill intention. After her performance, she got a call that her daughter was sick, and she had to immediately leave for Akosombo. From there, they had to transfer her daughter to Tema for further medical care. She only left the hospital on Monday morning," Tsotorme explained.

He also mentioned that during the chaos, Gifty misplaced her phone, making it difficult for anyone to reach her. This, he said, further complicated communication between her and McBrown's team.

"In the midst of everything, she lost her phone. Many people tried contacting her, but couldn’t get through. At 5:58 p.m., I personally contacted McBrown’s production team to explain the situation. I even went with a team member to the show, hoping Empress might still make it, but the circumstances made it impossible," Tsotorme added.

Fortunately, Empress Gifty’s daughter is now responding well to treatment, and the family remains hopeful for her full recovery.
