Family announces the Date for the One Week Observation of Rev. George Owusu Mensah
The family of the late Ghanaian gospel singer and revered minis
ter, Rev. George Owusu-Mensah, has officially announced the date for his one-week observation. This event will commemorate the life and legacy of the beloved spiritual leader and musician.
Rev. Owusu-Mensah, widely recognized for his impactful ministry and the popular gospel anthem ‘M’atwen Awurade Anim’, tragically passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 64. His departure has left a significant void in the hearts of many who admired his dedication to the gospel and his melodic contributions to Ghanaian worship music.
As the leader of the Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi, Rev. Owusu-Mensah was deeply respected for his unwavering faith and leadership. Beyond his ministry, he was also a proud father to Kofi Owusu Peprah, a celebrated Ghanaian gospel artist who continues his father’s musical and spiritual legacy.
The one-week observation is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi. The family has requested attendees to wear black and white attire as a symbol of mourning and reverence. This gathering will provide an opportunity for loved ones, church members, and sympathizers to pay their respects and join the family in planning the final rites of this remarkable man of faith.
