Founder of the Great Fire Pentecostal Church, Bishop Bonegas, has shared his painful experience of divorce, revealing that his ex-wife filed for separation at a time when he was struggling in his career.
"I have gone through a divorce before. I was not the one who requested the marriage be dissolved.
"My ex-wife took me to court when I was facing difficulties in my career.
"She told the court she no longer wanted to be in the marriage and requested half of my property. I couldn’t force her to stay married to me," he said in an interview with Zionfelix.
Reflecting on his past, he admitted that he rushed into marriage without seeking divine guidance. "I didn’t pray to God about my marriage before settling down. I was blinded by love," he confessed.
The divorce process, which took four years at an Accra High Court, ended in 2019, and Bishop Bonegas says he has since focused solely on his career.
"For now, I have no plans of getting married again," he stated.
